We are in the final count down now folks, I have two weeks left in this beautiful city. Then it's "Ciao, ciao Milano!" and back to Paonia for this girl! Then it's off to NH for the holidays, and then moving into my new apartment in Denver...uffa. It's going to be crazy!
Anyhoo, I thought I would give you all a little sample of what I've been up to in-between my glamorous trips to exotic places (yes, Ireland can be considered exotic!). This evening I will be performing at the Terme Milano, the fabulous spa that we got to go to during orientation week. I am not sure what to expect, I think that it will be a fun place to sing, the acoustics are probably great, but the audience will all be munching on goodies while wearing bathrobes...not too sure. So please wich me luck! I will be singing "Almen se non possio" by Vincenzo Bellini and a duet with my fellow DUian, Brian, called "Amor voce del cielo" by Donizetti. It is quite exciting to be performing so much recently, I miss that over the summer.
Last night I decided it was time to "Christmas-ify" our apartment some more. Annalisa put up baby Christmas trees in the entrance way, complete with little twinkle lights! So I decided to make some paper snowflakes to hang up. They turned out pretty well :).

Nicole and I made our way to Venice for the day a little while ago. I loved it! We went to the Accademia, ogled the glass, and found some masks to take home with us!
Continuing with true Milanese style, we had yet another fabulous dinner party. Theresa made some amazing alfredo pasta, and Allie made outstanding home fry potatoes!
A few weekends ago I was the happy hostess of my dear friend Ellen! She is a DUian and currently studying opera in Strasbourg, France. She came by train on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday morning. It was such a pleasure to see her! She and I will be sharing the apartment when we get home to DU, many adventures will ensue!!
I was once again rendered the happy hostess when my friend and SAI sister Elizabeth came down from Finland for Thanksgiving, Milano style!

Elizabeth and I in front of the Duomo!
We had an incredible dinner with 22 people! It was delicious; so many wonderful dishes, all bringing a taste of home to Italy! It was great. I cooked the turkey with the help of the lovely Elizabeth! It was 20lbs and took 7 hours to cook! But in the end it was perfect.

After dinner we all went to a bar showing the NFL game. It was fun and we met several cool Italians, learning English!

Dad's photo of Marley, George, and River Skyping with me on Thanksgiving day! They were in Aztec, NM and I was in Milan, Italy. I love technology!
So now I leave you with one final photo of the local TV add:
