Week 8 - Loving it!

A quick update before bed....

So far babysitting has been going splendidly! I positively love the two little girls and they seem to love me right back! How can I presume such a thing? Because I have become a living tug-of-war rope on multiple occasions! Go-Go wants me to draw sharks or kitties with her while Isa wants me to play hospital with her! It is both flattering AND endearing, although my pinkies (what they grab onto) are a little worse for wear... Honestly, it has been so nice to do something normal: play with play-doh and baby dolls for several hours a day. My sense of sanity has been restored :).

I do believe I have achieved "Milanese" status because I have been asked not once, but twice, in rapid fire Italian for directions. And amazingly I knew which way to point the misdirected souls! Success!

This weekend I am planning on adventuring to an Irish Pub (apparently Milan has dozens), an all-you-can-eat Sushi restaurant, and Svizzera!! (Switzerland) I have been looking forward to going to Switzerland since I first chose Italy for study abroad, it's only an hour by train from Milan! Theresa and I have been itching to get out of the city, so we're heading to nearby Lugano, Switzerland. Not sure what we'll find, but I'll at least be able to say I've been!

Our friend Keith had a birthday party Friday night, there were probably 30 people crammed into the guys' apartment! It was lots of fun, lots of laughs, and lots of pasta!! Here are a few photos from my friend Susanne:

A nasty cold has been trying to bring me down, but I'm staving it off! At least until tomorrow is done. I have my voice midterm...eep. Send good thoughts please!

Odd things that seem to be rather Italian:
-street sweepers at 2am...
-the English translation of the announcements on the metro has an Italian accent!

Hope all is well on the homefront or wherever you may be. Live la dolce vita!

Ciao, ciao,

Cassidy
